1st Evening Sweep - Summer Lane Pond
Not a bad turn out off 11 keen anglers for the first Evening Sweep series, the weather had been very warm in recent days which unfortunatly had effected the water quality which had turned a horrible green colour, but with a slight breeze but not much ripple on the water the fishing was going to be hard, which ment every one was hoping for a draw around the small pond where in recent weeks had been fishing very well from pegs 11,12 and 13.
1st on the day was Don Sutherland from peg 13 with 71lb-4oz - Don got the series off to great start fishing pole long to the Island catching big carp on pellet and corn.
2nd was Matt O'connell from peg 11 with 59lb-8oz - Matt a beginner to Match fishing fished a great match catching steady on the pole tight over to the far bank.
3rd was Paul Bennett from peg 18 with 29lb - Paul a venue regular caught some very big carp under the far tree.
4th was Sean Partridge from peg 8 with 25lb-8oz - Sean the series reigning champ caught on his normal method fishing tactics long into peg 10.
With no roach feeding Mark from peg 10 managed to take the Silver's money by scratching together 1lb of small roach (well Done Mate).
With the rest off the anglers only able to put a few small roach together the main lake did not fish very well...
3rd Evening Sweep - Summer Lane Pond
Another good turn out off 13 for this 3rd match, with the weather overcast but windy and water looking a nice colour everyone again was hoping for good draw and the carp would feed.
1st on the day was Sean Partridge with a masive 102lb from off the point peg 10. Sean caught from the off on his favourite Method feeder approach cast to the far bank rushes. This put's Sean wayahead on the leader board with 3 section wins under his belt, but lets see how he gets on when we get on to the River were the roach don't respond to the method feeder!!
2nd was Don Sutherland from fancied peg 1 with 15lb. Don Caught two big carp on the pole.
3rd was Simon Ryall from the corner peg 9 with 11lb 8oz. Simon caught just on big carp.
With the rest off the anglers struggling for bites everyone got there heads down to try and catch a few silvers to pickup the silvers pot money, but again the roach were not feeding but young Jack Partridge on peg 2 managed to put a few small fish together and a bonus eel and took top spot with 1lb 4oz. Well Done Jack!!!
